June Renee' Cottingham
Born in Georgia June Renee’ Cottingham has always enjoyed creative writing. Using her vivid imagination and talent for putting words onto paper, Cottingham earned numerous awards, and recognitions from sources including Poetic Voices of America, Sparrowgrass, Brunswick News and Atkinson County Citizen. This natural ability was a constant source of entertainment for friends and family. As a young child her talent was acknowledged by her local college for an in depth essay she had written on the lives of early american settlers. Curiosity led her to traveling the U.S. but her love of Georgia returned Ms. Cottingham home. Spring of 2001 brought major changes for this talented southern woman. Her third child was born with several medical disabilities which only fueled an interest in writing.As a result, June Cottingham settled near her family in south Georgia where she currently resides with her three beautiful children becoming the eighth generation of her family to settle in the same area.
June Renee’ Cottingham is also the author of Homemade Once Upon A Times, a hilarious southern version of fairy tales. Cottingham’s pioneering efforts and style have captured the attention of readers from satire to thriller.
INTERESTS
Cottingham loves fishing barefoot and cooking all day. She spent several years making quite a name for herself in the culinary field. June's most relaxed with her children and telling some of the wildest bedtime stories. "Who needs a book", says her son, "mama tells 'em better than books do".
DARK SIDE
Yes, of course I have a few skeletons. I'm a divorced southern woman with children boldly writing things that most people wont even admit that they think. All in all, I guess I haven't turned out all rotten though. I am not perfect now nor have I ever been, but I'm working on it.
